Ullman Sails Sets Another Course Record A clean sweep for Alchemy
Artie Means, Will Stout & Mike Robinson

The San Diego Yacht Club Bishop Rock Race, a 200 mile offshore event starting off of Catalina Island and finishing San Diego, rounds the famous Bishop Rock at Cortez Bank 100 miles West of San Diego.  This event can have big Westerly winds along with some of the largest swells around, challenging the crew’s endurance and navigation.

This year Per Petersons Andrew 70 scored more than a “Hat Trick” by taking a clean sweep of the awards.  Alchemy was first to finish, first in class, first overall, and set a new course record of 24 hours 33 minutes.  Alchemy had just returned from Hawaii after completing the 2250 mile 2009 Transpac Race.
Other success on the Bishop Rock Race for Ullman Sails was Alinka 2 winning class 3 as well as the double handed division, Sea Maiden 2nd in class 3,  Second Wind 3rd in class 3, and Creative 2nd in class 2.
