Crown Cup Has New Monarchy:
Super Fly chillin

The Crown Cup hosted by Coronado Yacht Club held in south San Diego Bay was sailed in near perfect conditions, 10 knots and sunny skies, and will serve as a great warm up for the much anticipated Sailing Anarchy Sport Boat Regatta this fall on September 26th and 27th.  Class 2 had seven Flying Tigers and one Cheetah 30.

With many lead changes in every race it was tightly contested amongst the class 2 boats.  In the end the Cheetah 30 “Super Fly” proved it’s name by winning 2 of the 3 races and were crowned first for the regatta.  Steve Mollering and Eric Rogers have been tuning up the Cheetah with sites set on the Sailing Anarchy Sport Boat Regatta and this shows that they are a real contender. They are coming off their win at the Delta Ditch Run as well.
The Flying Tigers have the Crown Cup on their season high point calendar so they had a secondary battle amongst themselves.  This turned out to be a very tight battle with 3 boats going into the last race that could come out on top.  It came down to the last 100 feet with Occam’s Razor coming back from an over early to claim the title of top Tiger.  Occam’s Razor helmed by Neil Senturian as well as Super Fly use Ullman Sails.  Ullman Sails has been dominate in the sport boat market with boats from the Melges 30s and Flying Tigers to the Melges 24s and everything in between.  Ullman Sails has been extremely successful in the Flying Tiger around the entire country.  This summer alone Ullman Sails Flying Tiger sails have won Long Beach Race Week, Whidbey Island Race Week, Yachting Cup, Crown Cup, and the San Diego NOOD.
