Hosted by the San Diego Yacht Club J-Fest is a mile stone in most J Boat sailor’s minds.  It is the last big regatta of the year and is a great way to end the season with great competition and great parties.

This year the J-Fest regatta was sponsored by Ullman Sails San Diego.  There was a great turn out in the J 105’s and J 120’s.  The J 105’s had a 19 boat turn out and all the best were in attendance.  The wind was from 8-15 knots under warm San Diego skies and warmer than usual San Diego water.

Saturday night, Wings, sailed by the consistent crew led by Dennis Case held a small lead over Pholly, Perseverance, and Javelin.  Sundays racing showed more of the same with the Wings crew coming out on top followed by Bennet Greenwald in Perseverance, Doug and Pam Werner in Javelin, and Bill Logan on Pholly.  The Wings Team will be representing San Diego at the Bitter End Yacht Club for the best of the NOOD Regatta winners as well after their overall win in this years San Diego NOOD Regatta

The common thread amongst these top four boats is that they all used Ullman Sails to dominate the top 4 positions; all 4 also used the latest Runner spinnaker from Ullman Sails as well.  Ullman Sails continues to dominate in this any most One Design classes. Led by sail designer Dave Ullman, Ullman Sails has shown growth through the recent economic times.  This is proof that the best value and best performance are in the same package.
