Ullman Sails New Line: FiberPath Sport For smaller boats that want load path Technology
FiberPath Sport

The new line of the highly successful FiberPath line from Ullman Sails is FiberPath Sport.  Using load path The new line of the highly successful FiberPath line from Ullman Sails is FiberPath Sport.  Using load path technology and Twaron yarns FiberPath Sport is designed for smaller boats and sails (up to 35 square meters).  The Sport line replaces the Technora scrim with a polyester scrim and adds an extra pick of Twaron in the fill direction then uses Twaron in the load path mapping designed by Ullman Sails to complete the structure of the sail.  It is then laminated between films under the same lamination process that all our FiberPath lines use making an extremely well bonded sail.

The FiberPath Sport line cost about 20% less than the FiberPath GP line that uses Technora load path and Technora Scrim.  FiberPath Sport Twaron load path yarns are gold in color similar to Kevlar.  The Sport is a great alternative to Kevlar paneled sails because it is similar in price and sailors get the performance of FiberPath on the smaller boats without increasing their budgets.  The size limit is due to the Polyester scrims, larger boats need more off thread line load resistance than the lighter smaller boats.

Ullman Sails is proud to offer this new product to yacht racers around the world starting in December of 2009.  Look for Ullman Sails at the Seattle Boat Show this January where we will be displaying the new FiberPath Sport.
