The Carbon GPL sails from Ullman Sails are the most durable race sails by far, outlasting Kevlar and Polyester Laminates by 20%-40%.  The Carbon GPL is also extremely high performance only being slightly out done by the FiberPath line.  The Carbon GPL sails are tri radial in configuration.  The Carbon GPL cloth is produced for Ullman Sails by Dimension Polyant.  The Carbon GPL is so durable it is used on mega yachts for cruising sails.  It comes in many weights for many different types of boats.  At Ullman Sails we have a very successful Capri 22 program that uses the lighter version of the Carbon GPL and it has given racers in this class years of competitive racing.  We have also used the Heavy GPL Carbon on Swan 65’s, Swan 68’s, and several larger boats including the Tanton 73 Velos that won the 2009 Rolex Big Boat Series in San Francisco with straight bullets.

The Carbon GPL cloth uses large denier Carbon yarns that allow the fiber to bend repeatedly without breaking along with Technoa X-Ply and scrim to hold the fibers in column and give off thread line load protection.  These fibers are also very U.V. resistant giving even more durability.  Since the Carbon is so low stretch the films never get stretched once again improving durability in the sail.  Ullman Sails uses Dimension Polyant Ultra-Bond seaming making the sails virtually bullet proof.

For sails that will perform for a long time and bring you to the front of your fleet, it is a great choice.
