Etchells Update #3:

The Ullman Sails Etchells program is going extremely well with huge improvement in performance over the last month.  Ullman Sails were second in the highly competitive San Diego Etchells fleet this last weekend of January 8-9.  Winning 2 races and getting a 4th in a race where a crew fell overboard shows that our speed is there.

The conditions were 8-12 for the entire weekend and USA 935 was using the Medium Jib and VMG Spinnaker.  In the winds over 10 knots the sails showed incredible speed.  Ullman Sails is now working on the light air jib to compliment this set up.  The VMG spinnaker is still going under design changes because at Ullman Sails we feel that the most room for improvement in Etchells sails is in the spinnaker designs.  Most other sailmakers are making smaller versions of their runners for the VMG spinnaker.  Since the angles are significantly different from running conditions and the problem with Etchells spinnakers back winding into the main when the apparent wind moves forward.  The current VMG spinnaker is going very well and more testing is scheduled in the next few weeks.

Ullman Sails will start production on these sails in early February.  Ullman Sails always makes the sails fast before releasing to the public.  Come back here to find out more soon.
