Alchemy the Andrews 70 was 4th in class in 2009 and is currently being refitted with a new keel and updating rigging to attempt to improve in 2011. Alchemy owned by Per Peterson is competing in a series of shorter races in 2010 to fine tune the boat with the ultimate goal of winning Transpac. Two of the races on their schedule are the Puerto Vallarta Race in February 2010 and the Newport to Cabo Race in March of 2010. Alchemy has had a busy schedule the last 2 years and will continue at fine tuning sails and boat trim over the next year and a half.
Sailing on the boat in the afterguard are Etchells sailors Will Stout, Artie Means, and Chuck Skewes of San Diego California. It conjunction with the busy Alchemy schedule the trio is focusing in on the 2011 Etchells World Championship hosted by San Diego Yacht Club. These two campaigns work well for the trio because of the cross training it keeps them focused and in shape, ready for the challenges of the 2011 sailing season. Ullman Sails is working with both teams to achieve their goals of Championship seasons.
