CSS Race #1 is the Blakely Rock Race and with sunshine and a fresh breeze everyone was ready to go for the 9AM start. Unfortunately, the Race Committee had some issues with one of their whalers so the start was delayed for an hour and a new course was posted for the race that didn't require a whaler to run up to Pt. Richmond to drop the North mark.
The course featured a downwind start and run to Blakely Rock, up to the Meadow Point marker, down to West Point and finish. A fun twist to the normal course on a building ebb tide.
The faster boats dominated the overall results due to having the best breeze during the first hour but with everyone finished in under 4 1/2 hours no one was complaining!
Ullman Sails powered boats did well with Derek Campbell's Melges 32 Banshee using a FiberPath Main taking 1st overall and winning P1. Other Ullman powered class winners were Erik Kristen's J-105 Jubilee in P8 and Marty Godsil's Thunderbird Invader in P12. Congrats to them and the other Ullman clients who placed in their classes!
