Jessica Watson to set new World Record with Ullman:

Jessica Watson took off from Sydney Australia on October 18th 2009 to become the youngest person to sail around the world non-stop, solo, and without assistance.  She is 16 years old and is scheduled to return on May 2nd or 3rd.  The journey is 23,000 miles overall.
Jessica’s pink boat has been a media hot spot in Australia and internationally because many doubted she could make it and that a rescue would be expensive.  Jessica did several test voyages including one to New Zealand to silence critics of hers and her parents for letting her attempt it.

Jessica has been sailing since she was 8 and has shown her maturity by putting up with gale winds and high seas without loosing her sense of humor.  Her blogs are full of fun on the water life stories and talk about everything from electrical storms and rough weather all the way to the handle of her tea kettle falling off as well as her parents flying over in a plane when she reached Australian waters. She named her boat Ella’s Pink Lady  for her main sponsor Ella Bache and is it ever pink! For this incredible trip Jessica picked Ullman Sails for her sails to get the best performance and durability that would give her the best chance to set this world record.
This blonde hair petit girl has shown the world what it possible if you put your mind to it.  You can follow her final days of the journey on her web site at  http://www.jessicawatson.com.au/the-latest-news
