J-29 'Wings' heads for the AGC mark

The Lake Union Duck Dodge Series, a Seattle sailing tradition, kicked off its 36th season May 11th. For those who don't know, this series has a something for everyone - relaxed evening racing (?!), lots of multi fleet ineraction and an opportunity to get dressed up!

Duck Dodge has an wide ranging number of theme night races. Last night was Prom Night, held in typical late Spring Seattle conditions - light winds punctuated by torrential downpours! I sailed with Jim Moynihan and crew on the J-29 'Wings' testing out a new FiberPath Sport #1 in the Fast Boat Class. The conditions didn't dampen the enthusiasm of those men and ladies dressed up as true hard core Dodgers rafted up to the committee boat for the post race party.Let's hope it warms up for Pajama Night!

Ullman Sails Seattle is one of the sponsors of the hugely popular Tropical Night August 10th. Over 100 boats will race around tiny Lake Union and features the Tiki Hut Mark where libations and other goodies are passed out to competitors as they round. Always a fun night!
