WHIDBEY ISLAND RACE WEEK DAY 3

WHIDBEY ISLAND RACE WEEK DAY 3:

The sun and wind came in early for a perfect day of Northwest sailing.  All classes got 3 races in and there was plenty of action.  The sport boat 30 fleet had extremely tight racing with the top two boats finishing overlapped on race 2 after a two lap race but Mai Tai won all 3 of the races taking a commanding lead in the series.  Gary Morgan on his Peterson 37 kept up at the top of the fleet with a 2,1,2.  He is extremely easy to spot on the race course with his Captain Morgan spinnaker.

Check out the pictures from the day here.

The two Sierra 26’s are cleaning up in their class with Uno leading Dos by a few points.

The big boat start for Class P0 were woken up when White Cloud port tacked the start at the pin and crossed the fleet heading to the favored side of the cove.  Shrek now holds the lead in class PO.

The entertainment tonight is Gertrudes Hurst.  This band can really get the sailors into a great mood and keep them dancing all night.

Ullman Sails provide mark set help when one of the mark set boats broke down and racing was not delayed at all.  The forecast for tomorrow is for more wind and less sun.  It may help some of the heavier boats in the bigger PHRF classes.  Look for day 4 update here at Ullman Sails Seattle.
