Winter Vashon 2011

The Other Way Around!

Winter Vashon 2011 The Other Way Around!

This year the Winter Vashon Race out of Tacoma Yacht Club will be going the opposite direction from all years in the past.  Some sailors like it and some don’t.  The general opinion has always been that the current in Colvos Passage always runs North so the Island has always been taken to starboard.

With the modernization in navigation like GPS and current models it has shown that this is not necessarily true and with North wind predicted for Saturday it could be a great choice.
Ullman Sails is a proud sponsor of this event again and is supporting the new direction to give sailors a new look and new strategy for this race which often has great wind.  Several  boats are signed up and ready to battle Saturday December 3rd.
