With a fleet of more than 50 sailboats and two locations, Harbor Island Yacht Club helps its members get out on the water. Their 22- to 42-foot sailboats are available for members who want to take lessons or explore the water on their own. Its US Sailing-certified school is manned by instructors who teach learn-to-sail lessons, helping beginners get their certification to sail keelboats up to 25 feet in length. More advanced sailors can enjoy bareboat charters on a wide variety of boats, in the hopes of meeting a real live mermaid.
