John has been a big part of Ullman Sails in the Nothwest for years with his Olson 30 Ozone.
John began sailing while in high school in Tacoma and his sailing experience ranges from single handed dinghies, catamarans, and small keelboats to offshore racers of 70+ feet. John has designed foils for champoinship winning keelboats and supervised complete refits of offshore racers. He has raced in 4 Victoria to Maui International Yacht Races taking first overall in 1998 aboard the Santa Cruz 50 "Midnight Special", first overall in 2002 aboard the Santa Cruz 52 "Mystic" and first place class 2 in 2006 aboard his Express 37 "Kahuna". John skippered 3 challenges for the Lloyd Phoenix US Offshore Championship taking silver in 1998, gold in 1999 and bronze in 2000. In 2001 he won the Olson 30 National Championship sailing "Ozone".
John began working in the marine trades when he started RSEmarine (Rocket Science Engineering) in 1994 and operated TransPac sailmakers for several years in the late 90's. He Joined Ullman Sails Seattle in June of 2006.
