Wade enjoys racing on the lakes and bay circuits in the one design, PHRF and open classes. Wade started sailing at the age of 16 on Huntington Lake, California. Wade and his wife bought our first sailboat a Super Satellite a year after they we’re married in 1977. They joined a local club and enjoyed sailing almost every weekend. They also would travel to Regatta’s up and down California racing in PHRF. Wade and his wife moved from Bakersfield to Sacramento and after finding a great Thistle, and we were off and running. Wade has enjoyed racing the Thistle and meeting sailors with the same goals, having fun and winning! Wade and his wife added a Capri 22 to their fleet and raced in the One Design and PHRF Classes. Wade loved the combination of racing and cruising on the lakes and other waterways such as Tahoe and the Delta and the bay. During the years they also accumulated additional boats such as the Laser, Banshees, and a Day Sailor and are active today in the different fleets. Their newest boat is a Catalina 25, which we cruise on Folsom Lake. Having all of the different boats, accumulating the knowledge of rigging and tuning, Wade started his own business, Sacramento Sailing Solutions. Wade enjoys helping sailors on their boat so they can race or cruise their boats. Wade has also skippered and crewed on larger keelboats on San Francisco Bay, Delta and San Diego Bay. Wade has the passion for sailing, and what ever brings him closer to the water is his ambition.
