Dave Ullman Consults On J105 Tune

The Friday before the 2009 Yachting Cup hosted by San Diego Yacht Club and sponsored by Ullman Sails San Diego, Bill and Chris Logan of the J-105 Pholly needed some help getting up to speed.  They called on Ullman Sails San Diego to get some fine tuning help with their rig.  Dave Ullman was coming to town and joined Chuck Skewes as they went down to Pholly and went out for a short sail to look at the rig.  Some set up ideas were discussed and given to a rigger that does work for the Logans.  Dave Ullman gave tips for how to set the boat up for the predicted wind for the weekend and how he would handle the new forestay rule in the J105 fleet.

This paid off huge for the Logans.  They won the 18 boat J105 fleet at the very competitive Yachting Cup.  Bill and Chris are looking forward to the Southern California Championshps coming up this summer in Long Beach.

Ullman Sails has been the prominent sail maker in the J105 fleet all over North America and has won almost every regatta in the very competitive Southern California J105 fleet over the last 5 years.  Ullman Sails continues to test new sails and new ideas for the following season to stay on top.  This has proven productive with the new Soaker Spinnaker developed last year that is the only spinnaker faster in over 9 knots than the Ullman Sails A.P. spinnaker that has been around for the last 4 years.
