At the recent Yachting Cup Mile High Klub sailed by Payson Infelise had an incredible regatta taking all first over the two day event with winds from 8-15 knots of wind.  Payson had pace all the way around the course leading at every mark.  I had a chance to catch up with Payson and talk to him about his Flying Tiger and how he managed the race course.  Payson said “We are really fast with these sails especially when the breeze picks up”  He then added “The only boat to push us this weekend was Niuhi and they had the same sails”.  I asked Payson if there was any changes for the lighter air that he would like to see and he said “we are still the fastest boat in the light air”.  Payson put credit in great crew work that let him focus on just driving fast and clean lanes to let the boat speed work.

Ullman Sails has been working hard in the Flying Tiger fleet to keep ahead of the competition.  With the addition of Chris Winnard to the Ullman Sails Team to work with Chuck Skewes and Eric Shampain lead by Dave Ullman, the team has been very successful at their goal.  Ullman Sails MK3 Spin is the biggest development in the last 4 months with on going development on light air rig tune to get the boat easier to drive in the light air.  Ullman Sails will be publishing their new Tuning Guide this summer.  For information on Flying Tigers contact Chuck Skewes Chuck@UllmanSailsSD.com or Chris Winnard at Chris@UllmansailsSeattle.com.
