The Winds were light and shifty to start off the regatta. With the scores fairly mixed up after two races it looked as though the regatta may be called due to no wind when a northerly filled in and the racing continued with the regatta ending up with four races for the keel boat classes.
Chris Winnard and crew Andrew Kerr and Bill Ramaciotti sailing the infamous ‘Disaster Area’, took advantage of the new breeze and showed great speed winning the last two races giving them the victory for the weekend by seven points over 2nd place. Chris is new to Ullman Sails and said he had exceptional upwind speed and the Spinnaker had DA going fast and low downwind . Chris and crew are now gearing up to sail the Nationals in San Diego on Mission Bay and work towards a 5th National Championship in the Santana 20’s.
